LVP Road to Recovery After School Program M/F, Girls Ages 14 to17 & Women in Active Recovery with at least 1 year clean time
Education, Art Therapy, Resilience Training, Group Therapy , Digital & Tangible Media Training, - Support for Young People in Families of Addiction, emerging from foster care, probation, shelters, domestic violence and Women in Recovery.
After School - This is a safe creative space for teens to express themselves through creative pathways using various forms of art and media content. Additionally, participants will have assigned days for art therapy where they are able to create artistic works through a variety of art mediums like painting and documentaries. As part of a wholistic approach, these teens will also have the opportunity to participate in group therapy sessions to discuss strategies for coping in today's digital times and their home environments.
Media Component - Youth will receive media training and technical training in media production. They will have access to production equipment that gives them an opportunity to develop their own content where they narrate their own stories. We will use social media as a means to help these young girls express themselves in authentic positive ways on their platforms.
Summer Program- We plan to offer M-F summer sessions of LVP Road to Recovery program that operates between July and August.
Women - In collaboration with local half-way houses we assist women in recovery by organizing ride shares, and/or connecting women to NA meetings, linking women to agencies that offer transitional services, being advocates for women in the legal system, working with addiction counselors in treatment planning, helping women become employable, assisting with suitable housing and aiding in the reunification process.
Media Component - For some of our participants, we plan to document their journeys to redemption and reunification. These movies will be used to affect policy change and service delivery for families of addiction. Additionally, we will use the media developed to launch social campaigns that aids in generating funding for increased service delivery.
LVP Safe Space (Young Adults Ages 18-21) 3 Days a Week
Guidance, Mentorship, Access Mental Health Services via Education, Yoga, Therapy, Art Therapy, Digital Media, Life Skills, Resilience Training, Health & Nutrition and Mindfulness training.
This program focuses on Mental Health & Overall Wellness in four areas; emotional, physical, nutritional and spiritual well-being. The prioritizes mental health, increase overall physical wellness and improve resiliency within this demographic. By offering a safe space to decompress, we best prepare today’s young women for the complexities of this digitally social climate. The wellness element of this program gives young women opportunities to check-in with their mental health using activities such as yoga and meditation.
Our approach to wellness is an attempt to help young women gain knowledge of self and resilience that enables them to be the best version of themselves. By doing so we hope to decreases stress & anxiety, increase mental fortitude and train them to become more adaptable to differing views, so that they can view life’s inevitable challenges as opportunities. Additionally, the physical and social aspects of this program increase social engagement and relies less on technology. This program is conducted in group sessions.
Media Component - Participants will be media trained to craft digital social messages that resonate for good causes. The participants will have routine media development activities to learn how to positively incorporate media into their lives. During the course of the program each participant will be required to develop a PSA, either a #BEREAL video encouraging young people to embrace themselves authentically or #ANTIBULLYING video that discourages social media bullying which will be part of a larger campaign.
LVP Senior Solutions (Seniors Ages 65 older)
Advocacy - Digital Media, i.e. Legacy Videos for Seniors living in Senior Housing Communities
Our Resource Connection Specialists and Program Coordinators act as liaisons between seniors and the social service coordinators at each of the facilities. Our RCS's engage with seniors, particularly those who have no other family, to assure their basic needs are being met. Additionally, Resources Connection Specialist advocate to assure that those who are responsible for senior care is actually providing that care. Our Resource Connection Specialist carry very small caseloads to assure proper time and attention to each senior. The Resource Specialist conduct bi-weekly visits to check status and monitor advocacy plans. The primary goals of the Resource Connection Specialists are to: (1) assure basic in-home needs, (2) connect senior to senior by establishing 2 party contact calling companion system and (3) hold living facilities accountable.
Media Component - Additionally, for those seniors who are able to participate, we produce legacy videos to document their stories as legacy keepsake for families.
LVP Leading Ladies - Saturday Program for Teen Girls Ages 14-17
Education - Digital Media, Mentoring for Teen Girls ages 14-17)
Teen Girls - LVP Leading Ladies is a teen mentoring program designed to empower young women by nurturing their minds while helping them to understand their worth, adapt healthy habits, resilient behaviors, and create purposeful life paths that foster their goals, dreams and aspirations.
In this program, the Program Coordinators and Women Volunteers work together to implement a curriculum that includes leadership development, decision making, life skills, effective communication, relationship dynamics and social currency (social media influence). The teens receive group and individual training. Each participant is assigned a Volunteer Mentor who plays a pivotal role in helping the mentee navigate their journey.
Media Component - The participants of this program will be trained in navigating social media, appropriate use of social media, building personal brands on social media and using social influence for good. Youth will have an opportunity to develop positive content designed to usher in a movement of #LVPLeadingLadies, where they will develop, produce and post content sharing acts of leadership.
LVP Shared Space Women Entrepreneurs Ages 25-37
Bi-Weekly, shared workspace hours (Entrepreneurial Training - Digital Media, Workspace Access)
In collaboration with the Worthy Women’s Entrepreneurial Network Leaders and the Lions Vision Productions Studios staff. WWEN provides entrepreneurial seminars for women entrepreneurs who are establishing or expanding businesses. Through LVP studios we will provide access to equipment and space for business owners to film, record and engage for business and creative purposes. Through this program we provide aspiring entrepreneurs essential training, and resources that assist them with branding and marketing. . Additionally, we offer operational hours for participants to occupy shared workspace to conduct necessary day-to-day operations in a professional setting.
Media Component - Those who successfully complete the program will leave with marketing kits that include professional headshots and marketing videos to help promote their products and services.
LVP Conscious Connections - Advocacy & Civic Engagement
LVP Conscious Connections - A collaborative partnership with other civic agencies. We support the efforts of others fighting for the same cause by providing non-monetary resources and support to movements that empower marginalized individuals to use their voices by engaging in the civic process. Activities conducted under this program include voter events, food drives, addiction services, homelessness assistance, job readiness, racial equity campaigns, digital marketing for social change and community mobilization.
Media Component - Through our participation in these efforts, we document and produce a series of digital media projects that bring awareness to important causes.
LVP Links - Is an emergency response system that links families in need to agencies providing services that addresses immediate needs within 24 hours.
Resource Connection Specialist [LINKS]- conduct assessments, identify immediate needs, contact providing agencies, schedule in-service and follow up within 24-48 hours to assure needs are being met before closing contact case. The service is phone and digitally based to maximize our program reach.
Media Component - Through a series of PSA’s around the importance of effective advocacy we model how to approach clients with compassion, respect, present yourself as a bridge and display care by following-up on their progress.
